I participated in an online ornament exchange over at Craft Goodies. I hope they like them! They were so fun to make and pretty easy too. I used a pine cone for the body, felt for the wings and hat, some Christmas material for the top part of the hat, and the eyes and beck are paper.

Mod Podge Pumpkins

These babies were fun to make, cheap, but kind of messy. I used about 1/2 a yard of material for the big pumpkins. I cut the material into strips and mod podged them to fake pumpkins. I did use burlap for the light colored one....I would not recommend it, nor will I be doing it again any time soon. :)

This was my first attempt at a bunting. I used scrap paper and some odd and ends that I have. It was way more work than I thought it would be, and next time I will do a few things differently.

Burlap Halloween Wreath

1/2 yard of black burlap

1/2 yard of orange burlap

large straw wreaths

craft glue

3 paper bats

black glitter

screw driver

Cut burlap into 3x3 inch squares. Use screw driver to poke a hole into straw wreath add glue to hole then fold burlap squares diagonally twice creating a cone shape then push burlap into hole with glue. I glittered up my bats then hot glued them to the wreath.

Ten dollar ledge

I recently added a shelf to my family room. I used the plans from Ana Whites site http://www.ana-white.com/ for the ten dollar ledge. I made a small modification I cut six inches off one 1x4 and the 1x2 to attach a mason jar.

For the Love of the Mountains

Every year Stevens parents host a Labor day camp out. In past years it was a weekend to get wood in preparation for the winter, but the last couple of camp outs have been more about strengthen relationships, relaxing, and enjoying the forest. Steven and I really enjoy this camp out every year. We cant wait till next year. My camera was dead so these pictures are from past years.

WYLTC-Flag Luminary

WOOT WOOT!! I was this months Top Cut! So fun! I really enjoy this project group and can't wait to see whats next!

A Luminary is a sort of lantern right?? Well this is my spin on the WYLTC project this month. I used popular wood plank thingys...you find them at Home Depot with the dowels. I used a couple of sheets of scrapbook paper, mod podge, little wood stars, jute, and hot glue.

Coolest thing we did this year!

It has almost been six months since we moved in and we have loved ever second of it. Owning our own home has been a great blessing and an answer to many prayers. We are both so grateful to have a home of our own.

Fishin in the Dark!

Last night we went to Butcher Jones for a little 4x4 wheeling and cat fishing. Steve and I rode with Caleb, Coralee and Conner. Reilly, Vanessa, and baby Tilly came too with Skyler, and Cody. I don't have pictures of the four wheeling part because it pretty much scares the crap outta me. (The story Vanessa tells on her blog about Skyler's near death experience at Butcher Jones...well I was in the back seat of his Jeep! So I'm a little leery of going now.) Steve and I fixed dutch oven pizzas, Caleb caught a big catfish, Vanessa caugth a fish stick size blue gill, and we all had a really good time with one another. It's good to be with family!

Old Window Project

This project started with a comment from my MIL. Last summer I was with Polly and Kamarah at an antique/JUNK yard when we saw some old windows. Polly was telling us about an old window a friend of hers had turned into a picture collage. I figured I could give it a try. So after looking for several months for the perfect windows I found some at the same antique/JUNK yard! I bought one for Polly as a mothers day gift and one for me. It took me about 2 weeks to get everything put together. I used about 20 sheets of scrapbook paper, 2 yards of ribbon, a hundred or so glue dots, 4 sticks of hot glue, and with the help of a sweet husband Polly's window is finished! I will start mine soon enough. I have a few other projects I should finish first.

Yes I know it has been a really long time since I have posted anything. But really not much has happened in the last few weeks. We went to the zoo one morning with Vanessa, Tilly, and Corrine. We also went camping over memorial day with the Adams family near greens peak. Last but not least we went to Heber over the 4th of July! My FAVORITE! Here is just a few of the pictures.

Last weekend Steve and I went to the Desert Botanical Gardens to see the glass artist, Chihuly: The Nature of Glass exhibit. He is the guy that did the ceiling sculpture at the Bellagio in Vegas. Any way I wasn't really sure what to expect....but it was really beautiful. We enjoyed walking through the garden looking at all the crazy shapes this guy came up with. Here are a few of our favorites.

While we were at the park we also walked through the butterfly pavilion. I have never seen so many butterfly's in my life. They were everywhere!

Apache Trail

Seeing as how the weather was so beautiful this weekend, Steven and I went on a drive. The Apache Trail winds through the desert along Canyon Lake, Apache Lake, and ends at the Roosevelt Dam. There is lots of places to stop and explore. These are just of the things to see along the trail. Over the next few weeks the plants and flowers will be blooming and even more beautiful! Can't wait to go again.

Really Good Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Chocolate Chip Cookies!

2 1/4 Cups flour

1 tsp. Baking soda

1 Cup Butter

3/4 Cup Brown Sugar

1/4 Cup Granulated Sugar

1 tsp Vanilla

1 Pkg Instant Vanilla or Chocolate Pudding

2 Eggs

12 oz Chocolate Chips

1 Cup Nuts (optional)

Cream flour, soda, and butter till light. (don't or mix) Add sugars, vanilla, pudding, and eggs till mixed well. Hand mix in chocolate chips. Bake 375 degrees for 10 minutes.

I used chocolate pudding for these cookies, cause that's what I had!

I love baking. It's one of my favorite things to do. It relaxes me. I got this recipe form a Taylor Ward Relief Society cook book. This recipes turns out really good. The cookies are fluffy and soft. I don't know how well they keep.....they wont last that long any way! Hope you like them too!

What you Need: Tonto Pass, Camping gear, food for your family.

Breakfast will be provided Saturday morning. The Lake is really full so fishing should be good. There is hiking trails around the campsite and a playground for the little kids!

The best part....there is running water with toilets and showers! Call if you have any questions. See you all there!

Last year at a scrapbook convention I had seen a small lamp with a lampshade that has been covered with scrapbook paper, since then I had been wanting to cover my two red lampshades. Now that a have a few nights to myself I decided to give it a try. It turns out it was a little trickier than I had first thought. If you don't look to close they look pretty good. I used 3 sheets of 12x12 paper per shade, hot glue, ribbon, a few buttons, and felt flowers. It took me about two hours to cover both shades.

The Magic Kingdom!

Can you believe it has already been a year since Steve and I were married...time sure flies! For our anniversay we went to Disneyland for three days. The first day we spent all of our time in Disneyland and the second day we went over to California Adventures. On the third day we revisited all of aur favorite rides. The weather was beautiful,and the crowds were almost non existant. It was one of the best vacations I have been on. I can't wait to go back!

P.S. Yes yes I know it has been a really long time....but here ya go, I posted!

Show Low, Snow, and Us!

While we were in Show Low to see the big snow we went on the Rim hike across from the Show Lake...well sorta across from the lake. Any way we went and played in the snow a little. It was a pretty day and really nice to be outside. This was the same walk we went on when Steve first intro'ed me to his parents. Polly later told us she knew Steve was gonna marry me after meeting me for the first time. Smart Mam ma...

Pink and Black

Rather than some far away warm beach Steve and I opted for the freazing cold weather of Strawberry, AZ! The cabin was very cozy with a wood burning stove, two space heaters, and a down comforter.

While we stayed in Strawberry we visited several antique shops, Natural Bridge National Park, and a little of this and a little of that.... We had a nice relaxing weekend. We look forward to going back when the weather is warmer!

How it started!

Once upon a time there was a fairy princess..... Just kidding! Our story isn't filled with fairies, wishes or godmothers, but it is pretty neat!

Steve and I meet through Frank and Kamarah. His brother and my best friend. Kamarah had invited me to go to dinner with them, Jami, Rick, and Steve. The week before I went to dinner with all of them Steve and I had been emailing each other, and getting to know a little about each other. Steve had asked me if I wanted to go play putt putt after dinner, so we did then went and had ice cream. It was a fun first date, we were both pretty comfortable around each other and able to joke and talk.

The two weeks that followed our first date we had gone out six or seven more times!

To make a long story short, Steve asked me to marry him August 24th, I said yes! (Post to come later.)

I can't express how he has changed my life and how excited I am to spend the rest of eternity with him! I LOVE him more than anything on earth. What an amazing feeling, this crazy little thing called love!
